FOUNDER'S MESSAGE
For as long as I can remember, coffee has been a part of my life. From smelling it in the morning before my dad would head to work, to the lifetime I have spent busting my Mom's balls about how she STILL makes a pot of coffee wrong. Either way, it has been there to wake me up, lift my spirits, and bring a smile to my face.
Coal Creek Coffee Roasters was born from those experiences and those faint childhood memories. We want to be a part of those special moments in your life because, for us, it is not “just coffee”, it is the foundation to a solid morning and the glue that can bring people and conversation together.
At Coal Creek, we do not employ any fancy technology or cutting edge roasting equipment. We keep it simple. We use a standard drum roaster and we taste every roast that comes out of it. When we say we taste our coffee, we do just that. We grind it up and brew it in all of the popular methods: drip, pour-over, espresso (you get the point) Nothing against fancy cupping methods used by other coffee companies, we do that too, but we feel that the end result in your cup is the only thing that matters.

Nomadic at heart, this world traveler has been to countries far and wide. Head Roaster and coffee connoisseur, Cory takes coffee seriously. Sourcing beans from the best regions and meticulously developing complex roast profiles to both delight and excite your pallet. Not pretentious, just passionate.
Cory’s passion for coffee started while in the Marine Corps. Always disappointed with the black sludge they would call coffee in the COC, he made it his personal mission to find and drink only quality coffee. When his favorite bean was discontinued at the grocery store, it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. A phone call to Javi later, and Coal Creek was born.
Kate Herb
While Cory focuses on the roasting, Kate delves deep into customer relations, testing, and quality assurance, ensuring that Coal Creek Coffee Roasters excels in every dimension.If you ask Cory, he'd insist that meeting Kate was a twist of fate, a sentiment he felt from their very first date. Their paths intersected at the Twenty-Nine Palms Marine Base in the Mojave Desert. Over the years, their shared passion for food, wine, and their deepening love for each other have been the backbone of their bond. Kate's culinary expertise is evident in all she brings to Coal Creek Coffee.
When not working alongside Cory in the the crafting of new and exciting roasts she can be found dabbling in every aspect of Coal Creek Coffee Roasters.
Meesh
A creative powerhouse and all-around visual guru. Meesh is an enigma. Responsible for making the brand stand out whether it be in print or in the vast digital universe. If it looks good Meesh is behind it, even when he’s not!
Meesh joins Coal Creek Coffee Roasters with over 20 years experience in the visual arts. A decade as a commercial photographer and an equal amount of experience in television commercial production Meesh is excited to bring that expereince into the world of coffee.
